Welcome to the 17th Annual IHLGF
IHLGF 2010
APRIL 30th, May 1-2, 2010.
This is the 17th year that the IHLGF will be held, and once again, the contest will be in its traditional location in Poway California. This year the IHLGF will again be a showcase for soaring talent in the US. Pilots will have an opportunity earn US F3K Team select qualifying points toward a chance to represent their country in the first ever FAI F3K Worlds in 2011. Details on selection criteria can be found at www.f3k.us.
Poway over the years has been synonymous with Hand Launch/ DLG contests. Many pilots have enjoyed this unique site over the last 16 years, developed their skills, and met and flown with friends. The time is now to come and fly in San Diego. The IHLGF is sure to provide the travelling pilot with some separation between large contests and capitalize on our beautiful weather that time of year. We are looking forward to seeing many international pilots make it to the IHLGF this year!
IHLGF Silent Auction
But here it is in a nutshell:
Think EBAY on a Whiteboard.
The silent auction differs from a raffle in that you arent going to end up with something you didnt bid for. You are not going to pay 100$ in raffle tickets just to end up with a hat, some shoelaces, and coffee mug.
Our sponsors have provided some INCREDIBLE GEAR for the Silent Auction this year.
Just in Soaring USA has committed to 2 DLGS!
A SPIN DLG http://www.soaringusa.com/products/p…ategory_id=294
A SOLO DLG
TPG will set a price floor or reserve, and open up bidding for a period in time, during the contest. We will not be making any auction announcements while pilots are flying.
The product will get exclusive announcement from the contest director and help our sponsors get some value in explaining their awesomeness to you- the pilots. We will have a large white dry erase board. Pilots will write their name and bid publically on the product. We will set a minimum bid of about 50% of retail value. It its a 20$ servo, the reserve will be about 10$. We will close the bidding at an announced cut off time. Pilots entering a higher bid will simply erase the previous name, enter theirs, and increase the bid. No, you cannot bid in half cent increments, or bid your children, only the relative strength of the US dollar will be accepted here. The last bid at the close gets the product. All closes will take place between rounds. We will feature this throughout the contest. We think this will be a lot of fun for the pilots who are not flying during their heats and be an exciting way to get product into the hands of people who actually want it. All winning bids will be handed their product at the pizza party saturday nite at round table. The larger items will be auctioned during the down time at lunch so to enable anyone to bid. It will probably get a little silly, but we think its novel, and fun. Please bring your checkbook, or cash, or new IPAD so you can paypal TPG Directly.
I will be publishing a list of auction items as they come in. I can tell you we have no fewer than 4 complete DLG kits this year.
Thank you again to our Sponsors!
